San Francisco

San Francisco is a city known for its iconic landmarks that are symbols of ingenuity and industry. Even through the fog for which the City by the Bay is notorious, it’s hard to miss the “international orange” glow of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. Considered one of the Wonders of the Modern World, it was the longest and tallest suspension bridge in the world at the time of its completion in 1937. A short ferry ride affords visitors a peek inside Alcatraz – the maximum-security prison that once housed the likes of Al Capone. The popular tourist areas of Union Square and Fisherman’s Wharf can be accessed by two of the three remaining cable car lines – part of the world’s last manually operated cable car system.
